High-temperature Ultrasonic Couplant

VersaSonic High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant | Advantage NDT Supplies Ltd

VersaSonic High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant

VersaSonic has a broad operating range of -10 to 700°F (-23 to 371°C).

Instantaneous ultrasonic response (does not contain plastic powders which delay ultrasonic conduction).

VersaSonic® is the most versatile couplant, from high temperature to turbine rotors to extreme weather inspections. VersaSonic is a low-toxicity, biodegradable couplant that does NOT contain peanut oil.

Excellent corrosion inhibitor. Provides non-toxic, superior, long-term corrosion inhibition for steel and cast iron and is compatible with other metals and most plastics. VersaSonic may be left in place unless it will interfere with subsequent manufacturing operations such as painting or electroplating.

Operating Range -10 to 700°F (-23 to 371°C)
Viscosity Gel and paste
Medium viscosity
High viscosity
Halogens and Sulfur Less than 50 ppm

Low environmental impact. Contains no perfluorocarbons, silicones, peanut or tree nut oils.

HiTempco High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant | Advantage NDT Supplies Ltd.

HiTempco High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant

Introduced in the mid-1970s by Aerotech/Krautkramer Branson, HiTempco has been the standard of performance in silicone-based high-temperature couplants for decades.

With a broad temperature range of -50˚ to 775˚F (-45˚ to 412˚C), its applications range from high-temperature thickness gaging and flaw detection to ambient and low-temperature coupling where no corrosion, broad material compatibility, long service life and low toxicity are considerations.

Operating Range -50˚ to 775˚F (-45˚ to 412˚C)
Viscosity ≈40,000 cps. Brookfield
Flash Point Cleveland Open Cup 649˚F (343˚C)
Auto-ignition 820˚F (437˚C)

Compliance: ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (T-533), ASTM F519, FAA AC #25-29 (Glycerin-free), NAVSHIPS 250-1500, Nuclear grade (less than 50 ppm Halogens & Sulfur), P91 Steel Inspection (Water-free)

(Does not contain plastic powders, which delay ultrasonic conduction and result in difficult-to-remove residues). Excellent corrosion inhibitor. Provides non-toxic, long-term corrosion inhibition for steel and cast iron and is compatible with other metals and most plastics. HiTempco may be left in place unless it will interfere with subsequent manufacturing operations such as painting or electroplating.

EchoTherm High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant | Advantage NDT Supplies Ltd.

EchoTherm High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant

EchoTherm contains a polymer that melts (and begins to smoke) at 750°F (400°C), extending the operating range. However, it is NOT necessary to reach this temperature to obtain instant readings.

A high-temperature thickness gauging and corrosion testing couplant that has an operating range of 200°F to 1000°F (93 to 538°C ) and an auto-ignition temperature of above 1300°F (704°C).

EchoTherm does not contain Teflon and is not expected to cause “polymer plume fever.”

If you are testing below 700°F, VersaSonic is the ideal broad temperature couplant with an operating range of -10 to 700°F.

Operating Range 200°F to 1000°F (93°C to 538°C)
Auto Ignition Temperature* Greater than 1300°F (704°C).
* Test by John A. Kennedy & Assoc., ASTM E659-14
Flash Point 1050°F (570°C)
Viscosity Thick paste
EchoTherm Extreme High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant | Advantage NDT Supplies Ltd.

EchoTherm Extreme High Temp Ultrasonic Couplant

The first and only high-temperature ultrasonic couplant has an auto-ignition temperature and flash point above 1300ºF.

With no minimum operating range, no residue, less smoke and no auto-ignition under 1300ºF, EchoTherm Extreme is an ideal couplant for port inspections

EchoTherm Extreme is a high viscosity paste that adheres well to the transducer.

There is no low temperature operating limit with EchoTherm Extreme™, and the product performs like a high-performance ultrasonic couplant from below -40°F/C to above 1250°F (675°C).

Operating Range -40 to 1250°F+ (-40 to 675°C)
Auto Ignition Temperature greater than 1300ºF * Test by John A. Kennedy & Assoc., ASTM E659-14
Viscosity Thick paste
